My interest in fire as a photo subject began during the winter of 2015, while on a trek through the American southwest where I made a campfire in the desert every night for three weeks. I began taking photos of my campfires.

A fire’s flames are erratic, volatile and unpredictable. They can be captivating, pleasing to the eye and on very rare occasions they reveal an image of something profound, making sense of chaos.

The photos in this gallery are part of an on-going collection. The images created by the flames have not been altered. What you see is what I captured with my camera.
